Discension is a piece for trombone and organ in one movement. The calculated duration is eight minutes and three seconds with the given metronome markings. However, the tempo will certainly have to be adjusted for the characteristics of the hall. The piece was conceived for the Mayer organ of the Catholic Parish Church of Saarlouis-Lisdorf, whose specification are reproduced below. The registrations given in the score accurately represent the composers intentions of the organs colors. However, they are mutable, and it left to the organist to correctly calibrate the registrations for balance. All dynamic changes in the organ assume the use the swell pedal. A legato touch is assumed, but it should be flexible enough to augment the character any passage.
