This composition is both a suite of four movements and a single rhapsody for organ. The inner movements each have two endings: a coda which terminates that movement and continuation. The continuation leads attacca to the next movement.
Laudemus Domine is a short antiphon from the Michaelmas, the feast of angels. Les Anges is built on the this chant, permeated in nearly every measure by its motivs. However, it coalesces into four distinct sections each an image of one of the principle archangels.
